The Who and Why Behind It All

Let’s start with “The Who” behind this blog.
My name is Emma Lindsey and I’m a twenty-something year old who just made the move from New Mexico to Arizona with my partner in crime, @marshall_theredgolden. Yes, my dog has his own Insta, and this likely won’t be the last you’re hearing of it. We’re originally from a small mountain town, so moving to the most populous city in Arizona is a huge undertaking. But thank goodness we won’t be doing it alone. Not only does my brother and sister-in-law live in the area, but the pair of us made the move with my little sister, Isa, and her old lady pooch, Bailee. It’s not the last you’ll be hearing of these two either, as the four of us usually come as a package deal. Excitingly enough, life’s newest adventure is here, and I‘m eager to explore this year-round sunny state. In the off chance I’m not at home working (currently virtual, secondary to COVID-19), binging the newest Netflix series, or crafting something with my Cricut, you’ll most likely find me hiking, driving around, in the Starbuck’s drive thru, or perusing the aisles at Target.
You’re probably wondering what I do for a living. Well, I’m a CCC-SLP, which is the abbreviated version of a fully certified speech-language pathologist. I graduated with my Master’s in 2018 from New Mexico State (Go Aggies!) and dove into the workforce head on. I initially signed on as an acute therapist for a rural hospital with an hour commute one-way, which was far from ideal. Thankfully, a SLP position opened up closer to home after 1.5 years with the hospital, so I applied, and was hired shortly after. All in all, I’m happy to announce I have finally found my niche. Being a contractor, working in a naturalistic environment, with children birth to three and their families is my favorite! I love, love, love being a part of an early intervention team. Just this month I signed on with an agency in AZ to continue doing just that. Although Marshall would disagree, getting back to work can’t come soon enough.
Now “The Why”.
It’s simple really. I’m a Type A personality, who spends way too much time in my craft corner. And with COVID-19 happening I’ve found myself an increased amount of screen time and a drive to stay connected with everyone. So... I figured this would be a great creative outlet! A place where I can keep a digital record of my life, while sharing my ventures with all of you! As for the name She Said That. Not sure where it came from, but seemed simple enough and easy to remember. Be ready for lots of pictures and posts about beauty, recipes, being a dog mom, travel, reviews, as well as, bits and pieces of my overall life.
